This was the intro of a series that was, for a variety of reasons, truly ahead of its time. T. Hewitt Edward Cat is a retired acrobat (also a retired thief) who has become a bodyguard. He works out of his friend's cafe, El Casa del Gato, where he uses his skills to protect his clients. Many of his adventures involve using his cat burglar's skills. The show was dark and moody, fitting the character, and was the first to use martial arts in a realistic way unknown on TV at that time and rarely seen even in films, except in such epics as The Manchurian Candidate, the first Hollywood movie to show martial arts in realistic fashion instead of the 'judo chops' usually depicted. The series also featured a number of highly-gifted guest stars and relied heavily on the film noir school to set mood and character.

Cat was violent and unpredictable, and quite capable of taking the law into his own hands when necessary. Or operating outside it when no other avenue was open. He valued friendship above everything. The best characterization was by Cat, himself, as a man 'born out of his time'. He drove a customized 1966 black Corvette Stingray and carried a .32 Walther automatic, as well as his ever-present 'Cat's Claw' dagger. But he used these weapons only as a last resort.

Included is the rare unaired expanded pilot.

Because this series has not been seen since 1966 when it first aired on NBC we only offer 17 of the surviving episodes. Quality is about a 7.5 on a scale of 1 to 10 which is more then acceptable considering the rare nature of this great series. Note: due to the age of this material and color shifts most of this set is offered in black and white.
